This Monday 4 climbers were stranded on Liberty Ridge, Mount Rainier. Earlier today–after 4 days–they were finally rescued by helicopter.
Fortunately there were no casualties. And they were immediately taken to HarborView hospital. One man was given a black eye from falling ice, another had altitude sickness, and all four had hypothermia.
They had to share 2 sleeping bags, their tent was destroyed by the weather, and one night they were forced to sleep in a Crevasse. But they survived, and are back on level ground, where they belong.
